Every vehicle that has been licensed in the UK requires an annual MOT Test once it has reached three years of age. The MOT Test checks roadworthiness and determines whether the vehicle in question meets the key minimum acceptable environmental and road safety standards required by law. The MOT must be undertaken by a VOSA-trained tester at an approved MOT Testing Centre.
Whitkirk Motors is an approved MOT Testing Centre and we take MOT Testing very seriously. Our experienced VOSA-approved technicians perform MOT Tests in our designated Testing Bay. An MOT checks the following for safety, correct operation in accordance with regulations:
If for any reason your car or van does not pass, the Tester will issue a Failure Document, highlighting areas for improvement. If it’s something simple like new wiper blades or bulbs, we’ll generally replace them for you and issue a Certificate. If it turns out to be something more serious such as brakes, steering, suspension or corrosion, we’ll give you a call to discuss your options.
With our fully equipped garage and trained professionals, we can generally undertake the necessary work within 24 to 48 hours and we won’t charge a Re-Test Fee if the repairs are carried out by us.
